Living Composer Initiative

The Living Composer Initiative (LCI) looks to empower all living composers, celebrate the diversity of their voices, and honor the significance of their contributions to the cultural fabric of society. Each year, The Ensemble commissions one new work from an emerging composers in an effort support artists as well as contribute to the growth of the string ensemble repertoire. LCI is open to composers of any nationality and age. Interested applicants must meet all eligibility requirements as well submit the appropriate materials prior to the application deadline.  Prizes (new for 2018):

1. $300 Cash Prize

2. Inclusion of winning composition on a Tribeca Ensemble subscription concert

3. Professional Quality Studio Recording


Eligibility:

1. Compositions must be 13 minutes or less

2. Composition must be written for 2-6 players. Any submissions that include additional instruments i.e. piano, voice etc... will not be considered.

3. The winner must be available for 1, three hour rehearsal session. While in-person rehearsal is preferred, the use of Skype, Facetime etc... is acceptable for composers based outside of Utah.
