Katie Bradford, viola
Recently named Assistant Principal Violist of the Ballet West Orchestra, Katie Bradford’s has established herself as one of Utah’s most in demand classical violists. As a member of Sinfonia Salt Lake, Salt Lake Chamber Artists and the Orchestra at Temple Square, Ms. Bradford enjoys a full schedule as an orchestral leader and performer throughout the Wasatch Front. Past engagements include performances with the Fry Street Quartet, The King’s Singers, Bryn Terfel, Deborah Voigt, as well as collaborations Kansas, Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Stevie Wonder. Hailing from Kaysville, UT, Ms. Bradford completed her studies at Utah State University under the tutelage of Russel Fallstad and Bradley Ottesen. During her undergraduate, Bradford held the position of Principal Violist in both the Utah State University Symphony Orchestra as well as Baroque Music Ensemble, graduating with honors in 2013. As a chamber musician, Ms. Bradford has worked intensively with James Dunham (Cleveland Quartet), the Jerusalem Quartet, as well as Arnold Steinhardt (Guarneri String Quartet) and Paul Neubauer (Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center). Deeply committed to new music and education, Bradford's spearheaded the creation and execution of Tribeca Ensemble's Living Composer Initiative as well as the Utah Chamber Music Project and serves as the primary organizer for The Ensemble's community outreach. In the rare moments Ms. Bradford is away from her instrument, she enjoys reading Russian literature, spending time with family and serving as a floor nurse for the Trauma Center at University Health Care.
